Scarlet Defiance
Teaser | 40"
Art Director | Model Supervisor | Layout
Scarlet Defiance: The Wall Between Us is a game by Vmmersion Studio. The Split Studio worked on creating this 2D animation teaser for the game, and I took on the roles of art director, translating their existing concepts to work for animation, guiding the background art, the final touches, and the teaser composition.
Additionally, I worked as a model supervisor, correcting layouts and keyframes, and as a layout artist on one of the scenes.

Layouts
I did the layout for the final scene of the teaser.

In this project, I used to receive layouts and keyframes from the animators and redraw everything I thought needed to be adjusted to better fit the model and bring more volume to the pose. I also had the autonomy to change the timing of some poses or add more keyframes if necessary.
Depending on the scene, a new round of adjustments was made after in-betweening.

The client asked us to modify the hair design, so we made adjustments to the design based on the layouts.

Model Correction

The animation for this scene was done by Pedro Monke, with a lot of pose input from the director, Alex Ventus. Due to tight deadlines, it proceeded directly to the model check stage.

Model Correction - In addition to the poses that needed adjustments, many poses were marked with only a few lines, so I had to actually draw the volumes without losing the energy of the proposed lines of action.

From this timelapse, you can see the process of creating one of the poses for this correction, maintaining the dynamic lines, ensuring the volumes are preserved, and proposing the placement of the rim lights.
